I am a sinner —
God says I am a saint.
He has saved us and called us to a holy life—not because of anything we have done but because of his own purpose and grace. This grace was given us in Christ Jesus before the beginning of time… [II Tim. 1:9]
I am emotionally undone —
God says I am psychologically TOGETHER.
Truly my soul finds rest in God; my salvation comes from him. Truly he is my rock and my salvation; he is my fortress, I will never be shaken. [Psa. 62:1-2]
I am held hostage by my past —
God says he deleted the sins of my past.
...as far as the east is from the west, so far has he removed our transgressions from us. [Psa. 103-12]
I am worthless —
God says I am treasured.
But you are a chosen people, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, God’s special possession, that you may declare the praises of him who called you out of darkness into his wonderful light. [I Peter 2:9]
Who am I going to believe: the li’l I am, or the Great I AM?
Trust the GREAT I AM.
…If God is for us, who can be against us? He who did not spare his own Son, but gave him up for us all—how will he not also, along with him, graciously give us all things? [Romans 8:31,32]
