Psalm 94:17-19
If the LORD had not been my help, My soul would soon have dwelt in the abode of silence. If I should say, “My foot has slipped,” Your lovingkindness, O LORD, will hold me up. When my anxious thoughts multiply within me, Your consolations delight my soul.
How embarrassing…
When I agree with my blathering emotions.
How embarrassing…
When those watching my life see me doubt God’s deliverance.
How embarrassing…
When I shrink from the battle that God promises to fight for me.
BUT how wonderful it is…
When the maelstrom is calmed, and a twinge of embarrassment remains–to remind me HOW FAITHFUL JESUS WAS–WHEN I WAS NOT.
II Timothy 2:13
…if we are faithless, he remains faithful, for he cannot disown himself.
II Timothy 1:12
That is why I am suffering as I am. Yet this is no cause for shame, because I know whom I have believed, and am convinced that he is able to guard what I have entrusted to him until that day.
Psalm 146:6
He is the Maker of heaven and earth, the sea, and everything in them— he remains faithful forever.
