Only One; One and Only

I wrapped my arms around my wife as she washed dishes yesterday.

“Will you do that when I’m old and all hunched over?” she asked me.

“Isn’t it nice to know that I ALWAYS will?” I said.

She splashed my face with water. “And isn’t it nice to know that I’ll ALWAYS do THAT?” she laughed.

Only one.

One and only.

One man. One woman.

Marriage–God’s way–WORKS.

[Jesus said] But ‘God made them male and female’ from the beginning of creation. ‘This explains why a man leaves his father and mother and is joined to his wife, and the two are united into one.’ Since they are no longer two but one, let no one split apart what God has joined together.”
