Do I take time to think? To take stock of my relationship with God?
THIS is a believer’s reality:
God is our refuge and strength, an ever-present help in trouble. Therefore we will not fear, though the earth give way and the mountains fall into the heart of the sea, though its waters roar and foam and the mountains quake with their surging. (Psa. 46:1-3)

God [whom we know as Creator, Son of the Most High, and Guide]
is our refuge [our personal Living Space]
and strength [our Security],
an ever-present [immediately and ALWAYS available]
help in trouble [our defender who is like a vigilant parent holding a child tightly].
Therefore [because he is our Living Space, our Security, and is constantly on guard holding us like a vigilant parent]
we will not fear [conjure up and visualize evil possibilities again and again],
though the earth give way and the mountains fall into the heart of the sea [even when we witness community, national, and international upheavals all around us],
though its waters roar and foam and the mountains quake with their surging. [even if our own problems “roar” and “foam” and “quake” in our minds]…We will not FEAR because God is our personal Living Space and our Security, who confronts the causes of our distress with the ferocity of a parent saving a child from harm].
…’For in him we live and move and have our being.’ Acts 17:28
